1958 All Stars

I believe that Ronald Barris, # 44 was also named as an Honorable Mention to the Look Magazine High School All America Team. When we reached the West Squad practice field Ron was still hurting from some brused ribs that he had played with for the last half of our season. He was still the best athlete on the field. The game was a very tight defensive struggle and was won by the
East. Robert Johnson, a lineman from Pine Bluff was named as the outstanding player of the game. He went on to play more football at Rice University across town from my school. The University of Houston. I understand that Robert graduated with honors from Rice and continued school at some little school in England.

Ron, if you get to read this, you have a lot of friends that ask about you whenever we meet. Skip is about run out of ( tall-tells ), wish you would join us at the big "50".
